The Very Best Banana Pudding

A nostalgic dessert that layers creamy pudding with ripe bananas and crunchy vanilla wafers, perfect for family gatherings and summertime BBQs.

  • 1 package (5 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 package (12 oz) vanilla wafers
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Slice the bananas into ¼-inch rounds and set aside.
  2. Combine the instant vanilla pudding mix with the cold milk in a large bowl and whisk for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  3. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and stir until fully combined.
  4. Fold in the whipped topping with a spatula until everything is creamy and fluffy.
  5. Layer the vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture in a serving dish until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
  6. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Notes

Try substituting vanilla pudding with chocolate pudding for a different flavor. For a vegan version, use dairy-free substitutes.
