  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Chop the veggies and dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Sauté the chicken: In a large pot, heat olive oil and butter, add chicken and spices, and cook until golden.
  3. Add the veggies: Toss in onions, carrots, and celery, and sauté until they soften.
  4. Create the base: Sprinkle flour over chicken and vegetables, stirring to create a roux.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, whisking and scraping up brown bits.
  6. Add the cream: Stir in heavy whipping cream and allow it to simmer.
  7. Cook the orzo: Stir in orzo and chicken bouillon, simmering until al dente.
  8. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.

Notes
