Crunchy on the outside and savory on the inside, these Sausage Pretzel Melts are topped with gooey melted cheese—perfect for gatherings or a cozy evening!

Ingredients

  • Pretzel Buns (4-6)
  • Sausage (1 pound)
  • Cheese (2 cups, shredded)
  • Baking Soda (for boiling)
  • Coarse Sea Salt (to sprinkle)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by preheating the oven to 425°F (220°C) and preparing the pretzel buns.
  2. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Prepare the baking soda bath by boiling water and adding baking soda.
  4. Boil the pretzel buns for 30 seconds on each side in the baking soda bath.
  5. Fill each bun with cooked sausage and shredded cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the buns are golden brown.
  7. Add coarse sea salt on top while the buns are still hot.

Notes

Serve with whole grain mustard or your favorite dipping sauce. A light salad or crunchy veggies on the side complements these pretzel melts beautifully.
