Pesto Meatball Flatbread

A flavorful and crunchy flatbread topped with savory meatballs and fresh pesto, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • Flatbread (store-bought or homemade)
  • Pesto (homemade or jarred)
  • Ground meat of choice (beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder
  • Italian herbs (oregano or basil)
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)
  • Balsamic glaze (for drizzling)
  • Optional: Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix your choice of ground meat (or meat substitute) with seasoning in a bowl.
  3. Form small meatballs, about one inch in diameter, and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  4. Pop the meatballs into the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Warm the flatbread on a separate baking sheet for about 5–7 minutes.
  6. Spread a generous layer of pesto over the warmed flatbread.
  7. Place the cooked meatballs evenly on top and add mozzarella if desired.
  8. Put the assembled flatbread back into the oven for another 5–7 minutes.
  9. Take it out, garnish with fresh basil and drizzle with balsamic glaze before slicing and serving.

Notes

Customize with your favorite toppings or variants such as Mediterranean or spicy options. Serve with a side salad.
