A delicious and nutrient-packed smoothie that combines spinach, avocado, banana, and almond milk for a refreshing start to your day.

  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 avocado (sliced)
  • 1 ripe banana (peeled)
  • 1 cup almond milk (or coconut water)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for extra chill)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and wash your spinach if it’s fresh. Cut your avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out half with a spoon. Peel the banana, and it’s time to get blending!
  2. Start by adding the almond milk or coconut water to the blender. This will help everything blend smoothly! Next, toss in your cup of spinach, half an avocado, and the ripe banana.
  3. Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice. This is where the flavor magic happens! If you’re using ginger, sprinkle it in at this point too.
  4. Add those chia or flaxseeds if you opted for them. They’ll absorb some liquid and create a delightful texture!
  5. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until everything is completely smooth. If you’ve added ice, blend until the ice is crushed to your desired consistency.
  6. Check the flavor. If it needs more sweetness, toss in a little honey or agave syrup, blend a bit more, then taste again. Adjust as needed!
  7. Pour your luscious smoothie into a glass or bowl, and you’re ready to enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize the recipe with other fruits or liquids of your choice, and don’t worry if your blender struggles with fibrous greens; a splash more liquid can help.
