Philly Cheesesteak Rice Bowls

A crunchy twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, these rice bowls are packed with flavor and comfort.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 cups cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes until tender.
  4. Push the veggies to the side and add the lean ground beef, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Mix everything together in the skillet, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and spices to taste.
  6. Sprinkle the provolone cheese evenly over the mixture, cover, and let melt for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve the beef and veggie mixture over cooked rice in bowls, and garnish with herbs if desired.
