Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups macaroni pasta
  • 1 pound taco beef (seasoned ground beef)
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the mac and cheese by cooking the pasta until al dente, then making a cheese sauce with butter, flour, milk, and cheese.
  3. Cook the taco beef over medium heat until browned, adding taco seasoning and simmering.
  4. Assemble the pie by layering taco beef in the pie crust, followed by mac and cheese, and topped with cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  6. Add sour cream and sprinkle green onions on top before serving.

Notes

For a kick, add sliced jalapeños into the taco beef mix. Cover the pie with aluminum foil for the first 20 minutes of baking to prevent burning.
