Southern Peach Cobbler

A comforting and nostalgic Southern peach cobbler that brings together juicy peaches in a deliciously flaky topping.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Peaches (6 cups, sliced)
  • Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
  • All-Purpose Flour (1 cup)
  • Baking Powder (2 teaspoons)
  • Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Milk (1 cup)
  • Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup, melted)
  • Ground Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the peaches by tossing them with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Make the topping by whisking together flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar. Stir in the milk and melted butter until combined.
  4. Assemble the cobbler by pouring the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, then spoon the batter over the peaches.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving warm, ideally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For a beautiful presentation, serve in individual ramekins and top with cinnamon and mint leaves. For variations, consider berries or nuts for added flavor.
