Taco Sloppy Joe Boats

A fun and delicious twist on classic Sloppy Joe, combining savory beef with zesty taco flavors in a hot dog bun.

  • 4 Hot Dog Buns
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 tbsp Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 Avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and sauté onions and bell peppers for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce, letting it simmer for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  4. Toast the hot dog buns lightly in the oven or on a skillet for 5 minutes.
  5. Scoop the taco sloppy joe mixture into the buns.
  6. Top with cheese, avocado, sour cream, and cilantro.

Notes

Feel free to customize toppings and proteins as desired. Leftover filling can be stored separately from buns.
